Dairy Free Banana Bread

Sweet Potato Smoothie Bowl

Here’s a delicious and easy to make Banana Bread recipe that is also dairy free. I used carob chips instead of chocolate chips for this recipe but feel free to use which ever you prefer!

Nutritional Tip: Carob is an excellent alternative to chocolate. It has fewer calories, fat, and sugar than chocolate, is naturally fat-free, caffeine-free, and low in sodium and sugar, and has high levels of fiber, calcium and antioxidants. Use carob chips the same way you would chocolate chips in almost all recipes, including this one.

Dairy Free Banana Bread

Ingredients

 5 ripe bananas

1/4 cup maple syrup

3 tbsp chia seeds

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups oat flour

2 1/2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

3/4 cups carob chips (or dairy-free chocolate chips)

Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease a 9-inch loaf pan and set aside. In a bowl, peel and mash bananas. Add the maple syrup, chia seeds, vanilla extract and combine. Cover and set aside 5-7 min. In a separate bowl add the flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon and combine. Pour the banana mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and combine. Fold in the carob chips and pour the mixture into the loaf pan. Bake 45-50min or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
